GOOD COFFEE CAN be hard to come by.

Fortunately for those who live in Dublin, things have improved dramatically over the past couple of years with tons of excellent coffee shops setting up stall.

Here are some of the best.

1. Kaph, Drury Street

It’s only been open since 2013, but Kaph has quickly established itself as one of Dublin’s go-to coffee spots. With its hip interiors and excellent coffee, it’s easy to see why.

They also make a mean matcha latte, if that’s your kind of thing.

2. Coffee Angel

As its name suggests, Coffee Angel’s coffee output is like heaven in a cup. With five branches across the city, you have no excuse for not popping in.

3. 3fe, Lower Grand Canal Street

Since launching in 2009, 3FE has transformed itself into a mini java empire. From its humble beginnings in the Twisted Pepper, it has grown into one of the country’s eminent coffee roasters.

If you love coffee, you’ll love 3FE.

4. Nick’s Coffee, Ranelagh

This tiny coffee bar is the perfect place to nip into if you’re craving a coffee fix as you go for a stroll through Ranelagh. Not only does it do superb coffees, but it’s also highly reasonable with all coffees under €3.

As if all that weren’t enough, they do free hot drinks for over 65s.

5. Lilliput Stores, Stoneybatter

Lilliput Stores is one of the jewels in the crown in Stoneybatter’s crown. Aside from being the grocery shop of your dreams, it also does a lovely coffee. (And sandwiches/pastries.)

6. Fixx, Dawson Street

Excellent coffee, comfy couches, macaroons — Fixx gets it all right. Warning: you may bump into everyone you have ever met while here.

7. Two Fifty Square, Rathmines

One of Rathmines’ hidden gems, Two Fifty Square serves proper coffee and is effortlessly cool. It’s also child-friendly and has an outdoor area for dog owners.

Perfect for chilling out on the weekends.

8. The Bald Barista, Aungier Street

Named for its follically challenged owner, The Bald Barista is one of the city’s most popular coffee joints. Their coffee is both delicious and gives you a little jolt.

9. Vice Coffee, Middle Abbey Street

Hanging around Jervis Shopping Centre and feeling thirsty for some coffee? Vice Coffee is only a stone’s throw away and serves proper coffee.

Pro-tip: their iced coffees are rather excellent as well.

10. Bear Market Coffee, Blackrock

Get a bus to Blackrock and get yourself a flat white from Bear Market Coffee.

You won’t regret it.

11. The Fumbally, Clanbrassil Street

You might be hard pressed to find a seat in this bustling café, what with all the people tapping away on their Macbooks. But The Fumbally’s coffee makes it all worth it.

12. Urbun, Cabinteely

Should you ever be out Cabinteely way, Urbun is the place to go.

And yes, it’s Urbun. Not Urban.
